The coalition agreement of the future German government was presented on November 24, 2021. The traffic light parties have agreed on ambitious goals and reform projects in the areas of climate and energy. The coal phase-out is already targeted by 2030. At the same time, a higher gross electricity demand of 680-750 TWh is assumed for 2030, 80 percent of which is to be covered by renewable energies. Germany is to become the lead market for electromobility (15 million e-mobiles by 2030). Significant investments are also to be made in the area of hydrogen production.
