VEDA GmbH has acquired LOHNunion GmbH, thereby strengthening its payroll services. A transaction team from BDO AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft provided comprehensive advisory services to the company—which is owned by Investcorp, a leading global alternative investment firm—in connection with the acquisition.
As part of the acquisition, BDO supported VEDA with a multidisciplinary transaction team from the areas of Deal Advisory (Financial Due Diligence, led by Volkmar Berner) and Transaction Tax (Tax Due Diligence, led by Dr. Michael Brauer).
LOHNunion GmbH, headquartered in Kiel, will remain an independent, specialized payroll service provider and will continue to support companies of all sizes and across various industries. With more than 4,000 clients, LOHNunion is one of the established providers of payroll services in Germany.
With this acquisition, VEDA underscores its commitment to providing comprehensive support to companies throughout the entire employee lifecycle and to setting new standards, particularly in the area of payroll services. At the same time, VEDA is responding to the clear market trend that an increasing number of companies are no longer able or willing to handle the increasingly complex and time-consuming task of payroll processing on their own. Headquartered in Alsdorf and with approximately 200 employees, VEDA offers medium-sized companies in every industry a platform solution for digital human resources management, including payroll, time and security accounting, recruiting, talent development, and learning management, with the goal of digitizing tasks and minimizing administrative effort.
