Legal requirements related to e-invoicing are increasing. Many companies are wondering how they can integrate these new obligations into their existing processes in a timely manner, in compliance with legal regulations, and without additional effort. BDO has already developed the right e-invoicing solution – and will support you every step of the way, from analysis of the status quo through to successful implementation.

Electronic invoicing is being gradually introduced as a mandatory requirement in Germany. Since 1 January 2025, businesses have been required to be able to receive electronic invoices. From 2027, many companies based in Germany will also be required to issue electronic invoices in the B2B sector. This e-invoicing mandate presents companies in Germany with new regulatory, technical and organisational challenges. Many companies are currently asking themselves: Am I affected by the e-invoicing mandate? What deadlines apply to my company? Which systems and processes need to be adapted? How can compliance requirements be implemented efficiently and in a future-proof manner?
The good news is that companies can actively use the time remaining to adapt processes, systems and data structures in good time and minimise potential risks at an early stage. At the same time, there are opportunities to digitise business processes, modernise financial processes and reduce manual effort in the long term.
BDO supports companies in implementing the requirements of mandatory e-invoicing efficiently, in compliance with the law and in a future-proof manner. To this end, we have developed a high-performance e-invoicing solution: our interface combines regulatory compliance with technological efficiency and integrates flexibly into existing ERP and accounting systems. In this way, companies lay the foundations for automated, scalable and future-proof invoicing processes.
We combine tax and regulatory expertise, technological implementation skills, ERP integration know-how and international project experience. From the initial analysis right through to go-live, our experts support the introduction of efficient and robust e-invoicing processes.
We are already looking beyond the immediate horizon, as it is not only e-invoicing that presents a challenge, but also future e-reporting. Whether via a potential platform solution using Peppol, as in Belgium, or a government ‘clearing house’, as in Italy – the BDO interface solution also offers tailored options for this.
Companies benefit in particular from automated invoice processing, a reduction in manual processes, lower error rates, faster invoice processing, high scalability and a high degree of future-proofing in the face of regulatory changes. Our solution already supports ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics. However, other ERP and accounting systems are also supported without any issues.
Regulatory requirements are constantly evolving. Companies should therefore lay the foundations for robust and scalable e-invoicing processes at an early stage. With BDO, you not only receive the right technological solution, but also the tax, regulatory and organisational support needed for successful implementation.
Our experts will support you throughout the implementation of your e-invoicing solution, from planning right through to roll-out. We handle project management, governance, ERP coordination, and time and budget management, and provide support for both national and international roll-outs.
We also review your existing invoicing processes, systems and data structures to ensure they meet regulatory and technical requirements. The focus here is on legacy systems and integration capabilities (ERP, accounting), data quality and mandatory fields, EN 16931 compliance and GoBD requirements, as well as identifying opportunities for optimisation and automation.
